Most international visitors reach Salvador by air, usually with a connection inside Brazil, and land at the airport on the eastern edge of the city — closer to Stella Maris and Itapuã than to Barra or the Historic Center. Plan a door-to-door transfer for arrival, particularly if you land at night or with luggage.
