Villa Encantada describes itself on its own website as a guesthouse open to the gay community. It is in Praia do Flamengo, away from the Barra–Rio Vermelho axis, so it suits travellers looking for beach time and a quieter stay better than those planning frequent late nights in Rio Vermelho.

Recommendations from specialist media

In 2026, specialist travel publication ViaG highlighted Fera Palace Hotel in the Historic Center as a particularly interesting option for LGBT+ travellers. We treat that as an external editorial recommendation, not as an institutional self-declaration by the hotel. The distinction matters: a strong reputation among queer travellers is not the same as a published LGBTQIA+ policy from the property itself.
